Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament: Chris Doleman Advances

While Anthony Carter might be considered the third-best receiver in the history of the Minnesota Vikings, it wasn't quite enough for him to get past the man that is on the short list for the best defensive ends ever to suit up for the team.

Chris Doleman romped to a fairly easy victory over Carter to advance to the Sweet 16 of our Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament. When the last vote was counted, Doleman had emerged from the match-up with 162 "recs," while Carter could only manage 30 "recs" from our readers. As we've seen in numerous match-ups in this tournament, when a Hall of Famer matches up with someone that isn't in Canton, it's really hard to make the case against the Hall of Famer.

Doleman has a pretty tough task ahead of him in the next round, however, as he's going to go head-to-head against a man that's a Hall of Famer in his own right in legendary coach Bud Grant.

We are done with the second round of our Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament, ladies and gentlemen. The Sweet 16 will kick off on Monday morning with a new match-up. Thanks to everyone for participating thus far!
