Another Monday is upon us, ladies and gentlemen, as our coverage of the 2013 Minnesota Vikings' season has started in earnest. Yesterday, obviously, was Sunday. . .but not just any Sunday.
It was the last Sunday that we will be without NFL Football until February 9, 2014!
That's right, folks. . .the Hall of Fame game between the Miami Dolphins and the Dallas Cowboys will take place on Sunday night in Canton, Ohio, and from there we're going to have NFL Football every Sunday until the Super Bowl. Doesn't that sound freaking amazing? I know it does to me.
Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .
-Arif has pretty much been a one-man wrecking crew at Training Camp thus far. He's had his notebooks from both Day One and Day Two, as well as interviews with running back Zach Line, wide receiver Adam Thielen and running back Bradley Randle. Like I said in the comments for the Day One notebook, I'll put this stuff up against anything that anyone is providing anywhere else on the internet. . .professional, blogger, local, national, and anybody in between. Nobody else is even close.
-By the way, Line is also being featured at Peter King's new site, the MMQB.
-Before Arif left for camp, he and Dusty put the finishing touches on the latest episode of Norse Code.
-Arif also has a pretty extensive media round-up of the first weekend of camp for your reading pleasure.
-We have all the pictures of Vikings Training Camp that we could get our hands on in one place for you. We'll be adding more pictures to that gallery each day of camp, so make sure to keep an eye on it.
-We gave a bit of a refresher about how the Physically Unable to Perform list works, as receiver Greg Childs and linebacker Nathan Williams were placed there before camp started.
-The Seattle Seahawks brought on a couple of former Vikings this past off-season. One of them appears to be having issues, and the other one might be as well.
-And running back Adrian Peterson is looking forward to seeing the league start testing for HGH.
From some other spots around the internet. . .
-In an article Mark is sure to love, it appears that Jeff Locke has added a second style of kicking to his bag of tricks.
-ESPN's Kevin Seifert appears to be a pretty big fan of defensive end Everson Griffen.
-Vikings coach Leslie Frazier has told receiver Greg Jennings to cool it with the criticism of his former team.
-And for those of you that are planning on checking out Training Camp, according to Star-Tribune meteorologist Paul Douglas, southern Minnesota is looking at "some of the best weather in America for the next 7-14 days."
The rules of the Open Thread are the same as always, folks. No politics, no religion, no feeding the trolls, and keep the bad language to a minimum. . .or, at least, use the spoiler tags if you feel the need to curse.
I had a bit of trouble coming up with a musical theme for this week. . .then I remembered that I said that, at some point, we were going to do a week of Queen songs. So, why the heck not?
Have the feeling this might have to be a multi-week thing.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Monday, ladies and gentlemen! The Open Thread for Day Three of Training Camp will be up at around 10 AM Central time. Until then, enjoy your day, everyone!
