We're near the end of July, but the action for the Minnesota Vikings is just getting underway for the 2013 NFL season, as we're going to continue bringing you the best coverage of our favorite football team from Mankato. The Open Thread for our Training Camp coverage (anchored by Arif Hasan) will be coming at approximately 10 AM Central time, so keep an eye out for that.
Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .
-Arif's Notebook for Day Three of Camp is up. (Sorry this is getting added late. . .it wasn't up on the site when I first cobbled this post together.)
-We brought you the first of our Sweet 16 match-ups in our Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament, with Adrian Peterson going one-on-one against Chuck Foreman.
-There's another outstanding episode of Norse Code for your listening pleasure.
-Arif had a look at Vikings' tight end John Carlson, who is hoping to atone for his lost 2012 season.
From some other outposts across the internet. . .
-Apparently having better receivers around him is helping Stephen Burton, who is making the most of it so far.
-I missed this yesterday, but Adrian Peterson went through one of the early Training Camp practices wearing a helmet cam.
-Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier sat down with Mark Rosen for an interview.
-The team is looking at potentially cutting Kevin Williams' snaps in half this year.
-Qadry Ismail referred to soon-to-be Hall of Famer Cris Carter as "extremely selfish," leading thousands of football fans to ask themselves, "Who the hell is Qadry Ismail?"
The rules of the Open Thread are the same as always, folks. . .no politics, no religion, keep the bad language to a minimum (or use the spoiler tags if you're going to curse), and don't feed the trolls.
To continue with our musical theme for the week, I saw this one on Skol Girl's Twitter timeline yesterday. . .it's not the same version, but it's the same song.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Tuesday, everybody! Enjoy the rest of your day, and we'll have more good stuff for you as the day progresses.
