Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 7/31

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

We've hit the last day of July, ladies and gentlemen, but we are still going strong when it comes to Minnesota Vikings coverage. Once again, the Open Thread for our Training Camp coverage will hit the site at about 10 AM Central time, and will encompass both sessions.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-Adrian Peterson advanced in our Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament, and we presented another Sweet 16 match-up between Cris Carter and Paul Krause. The next match-up in the tournament will be up at 8 AM Central.

-Eric took a closer look at the bad timing of former Viking Qadry Ismail.

-Ted informs us that Rick Spielman may have gotten the hang of this whole "General Manager" thing.

-Arif also took a look at the middle linebacker spot, specifically Erin Henderson taking it over.

From some other spots around the internet. . .

-The St. Paul Pioneer Press takes a look at how Josh Robinson is adjusting to the role of slot cornerback.

-Speaking of Erin Henderson's performance at middle linebacker, Leslie Frazier apparently thinks he's doing alright.

-What are some potential names for the new Minnesota Vikings stadium?

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as always, ladies and gentlemen. No religion, no politics, no feeding the trolls, and keep the bad language to a minimum/use the spoiler tags if you're going to curse.

We continue with our ambient music theme for the week.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for the last day of July, everyone! Keep your eye out for more Training Camp coverage, and anything else we might have coming your way today.
