Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament: Peterson Defeats Carter

For the top two overall seeds in our Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament, it might be little consolation to find themselves winding up in third place. But, someone had to take that mantle, and one did in fairly convincing fashion.

Adrian Peterson knocked off Cris Carter in the Consolation Match of our tournament. When it was all said and done, Peterson had accumulated 158 "recs" from our readers, while Carter could only manage to rack up 96 "recs." While Cris Carter is already in the Hall of Fame, our readers pretty clearly feel that the current NFL Most Valuable Player is well on his way there, and put him above Carter in the hierarchy of the greatest players in team history.
