Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 8/28

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! It's Wednesday, meaning that we're a day away from the final pre-season game for the Minnesota Vikings. Then we have the final cuts coming on Saturday, and then the waiting for the first regular season game of the year begins.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread, we've only had a couple of articles. . .we had a look at the Vikings' injury situation, and Ted had his glimpse at what he's going to be looking for in Thursday night's pre-season contest.

From some other places across the internet. . .

-Linebacker Desmond Bishop passed his "first audition" on Sunday night, and is looking for an encore performance tomorrow.

-The Vikings have turned over more information about the Wilf family's finances.

-With this season being the final one at the Metrodome. . .and, yes, it will be the final season at the Metrodome. . .the team has some of the cheapest ticket prices in the NFL.

-A Vikings fan has sued the state of Minnesota in an attempt to get the team to put the stadium in Arden Hills.

-Lastly, the Vikings won't be the only game in town on Thursday night, as the Minnesota Golden Gophers open up their season tomorrow as well when they host Nevada-Las Vegas at TCF Bank Stadium. Be sure to check out our friends over at The Daily Gopher for the best in Gophers' coverage this season. And if you're a B1G fan, you can't go wrong with Off-Tackle Empire (where Ted can be spotted from time to time).

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as always, folks. . .no religion, no politics, no feeding the trolls, and keep the bad language to a minimum/use the spoiler tags if you feel the need to curse.

More "running" music for today.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Wednesday, folks! Enjoy the rest of your day, and we will effort to bring you some more good stuff as it progresses.
