Yes, the time has finally arrived for the induction of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2013. This event sort of kicks off the 2013 NFL season, as we will have the Hall of Fame Game in Canton tomorrow night between the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins to start pre-season action to cap off this weekend.
Cris Carter will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this evening, but you already knew that. There are six other guys that are not Cris Carter that are being inducted tonight as well. Those gentlemen are:
Larry Allen - Guard, Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers
Curley Culp - Defensive tackle, Kansas City Chiefs, Houston Oilers, and Detroit Lions
Jonathan Ogden - Offensive tackle, Baltimore Ravens
Bill Parcells - Coach, New York Giants, New England Patriots, New York Jets, and Dallas Cowboys
Dave Robinson - Linebacker, Green Bay Packers and Washington Redskins
Warren Sapp - Defensive tackle, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders
I'm not sure what order the inductees are giving their speeches in. I would think that Carter would be towards the end somewhere, but I've been wrong about these sorts of things before.
The ceremony starts at 6:00 PM Central time on the NFL Network and on ESPN2, and is scheduled to run until 9:00 PM Central time. Again, in case you missed it earlier, we're going to separate our Open Threads for the enshrinement ceremony and tonight's Vikings' scrimmage in Mankato, as the Hall of Fame really does deserve its own stage. So, if you want to talk about the scrimmage, that thread should be coming up at around 6:30 PM Central, with the scrimmage starting at 7:00.
Enjoy the ceremony, folks!
