Memo to everyone: STOP DOING THE WAVE! You're welcome.
Hannah Foslien

The pre-season is over, and now we're simply waiting for the start of the Minnesota Vikings' 2013 season. We'll be bringing you plenty of good stuff between now and then, folks.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread, outside of our coverage of the game between the Vikings and the Tennessee Titans, we had Mark's look at Week 1 of the 2013 college football season (which began in earnest last night). Once again, we apologize for not getting as much stuff up on the pre-season finale as we generally would. During the regular season, that's not going to be an issue, I can assure you.

From some other places around the internet. . .

-ESPN has their take on last night's game from a Vikings' perspective.

-Also from ESPN, former Viking Bob Lurtesma is advising folks to be smart with their money from the NFL's concussion lawsuit that was settled yesterday.

-1500 ESPN was impressed with the performances of Desmond Bishop and Marcus Sherels in last night's game.

-Receiver Cordarrelle Patterson is going to try to prove that he's worth what the Vikings gave up for him in this year's draft.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've always been, ladies and gentlemen. No politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, and keep the bad language to a minimum/use the spoiler tags if you feel the need to curse.

Our final song for running week is this one.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Friday, ladies and gentlemen! Keep your eyes open, because we're going to have more for you throughout the course of the day today.
