We've moved on to a new day, ladies and gentlemen, and with that comes the renewal of our coverage at Minnesota Vikings Training Camp. Thanks to the generosity of our readers, Arif will be back in Mankato today for more coverage of our favorite football team as they prepare for the 2013 National Football League season. There will be a second Open Thread for today's Training Camp coverage (as there was for each camp session prior to yesterday), and that will pop up at about 10:00 AM Central time, about half an hour before the morning session is scheduled to kick off.
Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .
-We posted our sit down that we did with the folks from Football Outsiders, and there was also a rebuttal of their findings from Ted.
-Ted also gave us a look at the Minnesota Vikings' first depth chart of the 2013 NFL season.
-We also gave you the latest match-up in our Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament, with Jared Allen taking on Antoine Winfield.
From some other places across the internet. . .
-Blair Walsh is "struggling" in camp so far, apparently. (I have a weird feeling that he's going to be okay.)
-The "maturing" Everson Griffen brings the Vikings a lot of versatility on defense.
-Officials don't expect a lot of penalties to come as a result of the new "crown of the helmet" rule in 2013.
-Receiver Jerome Simpson is looking to rebound after a rough 2012 season.
The rules of the Open Thread are the same as ever, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding the trolls, and keep the bad language to a minimum or use the spoiler tags if you feel the need to curse.
MST3K week continues in our ambient music selection for today.
That comes from the closing credits of one of my personal favorite episodes, Werewolf, from Season 9. Definitely one that you need to check out if you haven't.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Tuesday, folks. Again, the Training Camp open thread will hit the site at about 10:00 AM Central, and we hope to have some more stuff for you throughout the day today.
