Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 8/7

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Happy hump day, ladies and gentlemen! We are back with another day of Minnesota Vikings coverage for you, including more of Arif's first-hand view of Training Camp. We're just two days away from the Minnesota Vikings' first pre-season clash of 2013. How excited are we? Most of the Game Thread is already prepped and ready to go. . .that's how excited we are.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-Zygi Wilf was held liable in a civil proceeding in New Jersey court that goes back more than two decades. (My apologies for the error in the legal parlance when I first did the story. It should be "held liable," not "found guilty.")

-Jared Allen advanced in our Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament, and we brought you the match-up between Randy Moss and Jim Marshall. Our next match-up will be along in a little less than an hour, and it promises to be another good one.

From some other sites around the internet. . .

-The judgement against Zygi Wilf will not affect the Vikings' stadium plans. (Good. . .I don't know about you, but that's the only thing I care about in this whole matter.)

-Receiver Adam Thielen is on the rise in Vikings' camp.

-The defensive injuries are starting to mount for our favorite football team.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as always, folks. . .no religion, no politics, no feeding the trolls, and keep the bad language to a minimum and/or use the spoiler tags if you feel the need to curse.

We continue with more MST3K goodness for our ambient music.

That's from Season Eight's Overdrawn at the Memory Bank episode, if you're scoring at home.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Wednesday, ladies and gentlemen! Be on the lookout for the Training Camp thread at around 10 AM Central time, and we'll effort to have more for you throughout the day.
