Minnesota Vikings to Interview Dan Quinn on Saturday

Kim Klement-US PRESSWIRE

The Minnesota Vikings have set up another interview in their quest to fill their head coaching vacancy.

Dan Quinn, who is currently serving as the defensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks, will interview with the team on Saturday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Quinn, like Todd Bowles (who we reported yesterday will interview with the team), has only been at his current job for one season, having been hired as Seattle's defensive coordinator when Gus Bradley left to become the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was Quinn's second stint in Seattle, as he was the team's defensive line coach in 2009 and 2010. In-between, he spent the 2011 and 2012 seasons with the Florida Gators, where he served as their defensive coordinator.

As Quinn's employer is on their post-season bye week, he is allowed to conduct interviews until 5 January, which is this coming Sunday. So, the Vikings will be bringing him in just under the wire. It's important to note that, because the Vikings will have interviewed him once, they could bring him in again during the off-week between the Conference Championship Games and the Super Bowl should the Seahawks advance that far. They would have to conduct that interview by 26 January, which is the Sunday before Super Bowl XLVIII in New Jersey.
