It's Conference Championship Week in the National Football League, folks! That means that, sadly, there are only three more meaningful football games left between now and September. The good news is that all three of those games should be outstanding contest, with the third meeting of the year between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks on one side, and Manning/Brady Part. . .whatever. . .as the Denver Broncos host the New England Patriots on the other side.
Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .
-The Vikings might not let Bengals' defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer leave without a contract when he interviews again on Tuesday.
-Some guy that got fewer votes in the Minneapolis mayoral election than a guy that actually ran as Captain Jack Sparrow has managed to delay the sale of bonds for the new Minnesota Vikings' stadium.
-We have further discussion of the quarterback position, because we had all nearly forgotten about it. Sorry.
-It's going to be harder to get tickets for Vikings' games when the team plays at TCF Bank Stadium for the next couple of seasons.
The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, folks. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, and keep the bad language to a minimum/use the spoiler tags if you feel that you absolutely must curse.
Couldn't come up with a good idea for a musical theme this week. . .just going to go with whatever comes to mind, I think.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Monday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day, and we'll have more for you later on.
