All signs point to Mike Zimmer being named the next coach of the Vikings. I would think we'll hear something official today, probably this afternoon. Although it could go south, like the Lions and Ken Whisenhunt did, all signs still seem to point to Zimmer. Until that happens, here's some other stuff going on here at DN and in VikingsLand:
Every former boss Mike Zimmer has had heartily endorses him, including a former Alabama coach. Roll Tide.
Like I mentioned above, Ken Whisenhunt, who was the odds on favorite to be the next Lions coach, is now the head man in Tennessee. Glad we dodged that bullet; Whisenhunt was my second favorite candidate behind Zimmer. The new favorite in Detroit is Jim Caldwell, former head coach in Indianapolis. One guy that's rumored to maybe be on Caldwell's staff is one former Ohio State coach that I revere and love...and Lions and Wolverines fans would have to come to terms with. Muahahahahaha!
SB Nation has a new mock draft out. They have the Vikings taking a quarterback, but not Johnny Manziel. So that mock draft sucks, naturally.
From elsewhere around the web:
The new Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority has hit back on the lawsuit filed by Doug Mann. They want their motion to be heard by the Minnesota Supreme Court on Thursday. Got $50 million, Doug Mann?
Musical selection for today. Hmmm, can't go wrong with The Eagles, can we? Let's just relax and Take It Easy in here, until we hear about a new coaching hire. We'll have a new post up and ready when/if it happens today. Beer lights on, play nice, no trolls, and use the spoiler thingy if you need to curse.
Enjoy your Tuesday, everybody.
