With the news of Norv Turner's hiring rolling in this morning, we're also seeing word across the Twitters that the Vikings have found their new defensive coordinator as well.
Confirmed by source: @MiamiDolphins LBs coach George Edwards leaving to become @Vikings defensive coordinator @FOXSports

I'll be honest with you, folks. . .I don't know a whole lot about George Edwards. He's relatively young for an NFL coach, as today. . .yes, today. . .is his 47th birthday. (Hell of a gift, huh?) He played college football at Duke, spending two years as the Blue Devils' special teams captain. He was also an assistant at Florida, Appalachian State, and Duke before becoming the defensive line coach at the University of Georgia.
Edwards jumped to the professional ranks in 2002 as an assistant defensive coordinator and linebackers coach with the Washington Redskins, and was the defensive coordinator for the Redskins in 2003. He was the linebackers coach with the Cleveland Browns in 2004, and served in the same capacity for the Miami Dolphins from 2005 to 2009. He went to Miami's division rivals, the Buffalo Bills, as the defensive coordinator in 2010 and 2011, and returned to the Dolphins linebacker coaching position in 2012, holding that position through this past season.
And that's pretty much the extent of what I know about George Edwards. I'm going to ask our friends from The Phinsider if they can offer anything further, and if they send us anything back we'll have it here for you.
