A Couple Of Site Things

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Okay, a couple of things have changed with the site, both of which most of you have noticed by now.

First off. . .yes, the number of recs needed to highlight a comment has increased to five. This was done to attempt to raise the bar so that the truly worthy or thought-provoking comments got their proper recognition. If this is that big an issue, it can potentially be lowered again.

However, those comments are now turning purple instead of green. . .because, seriously, who the hell wants to see green on a Minnesota Vikings web site, am I right? Yes, I know it's not proper "Vikings purple," but when I sent the suggestions for colors to the folks at the mothership, they sent me an example of what it would look like if we went with that shade. Here it is. As always, click to embiggen.

Sort of hard on the eyes, isn't it? Since we were not given the option to change the text color, the lighter shade of purple was the compromise. It's a hell of a lot better than green, isn't it?

Also, I want to call your attention to a couple of new "sections" on the site. Well, one of them is new, but I'm not sure how many folks are using them. If you look at the top of the page under "Sections," you will find that we now have one spot for all of our stories on a few different topics. At the present time, there are three different sections.

One for the 2013 season. . .because, hey, why wouldn't you want to relive all that?

One for the new Minnesota Vikings Stadium, because it annoys the Doug Manns of the world.

And one for the Vikings' 2014 NFL Draft, where we'll be putting prospect previews, the 2014 Mock Draft Database, and things of that nature.

So there you have it. . .a rundown of some of the changes that have happened on our site recently.
