Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! Yours truly has arrived at our new duty location (with Mrs. Gonzo and our two dogs in tow), and I'm settled in for today's Open Thread. I might be a bit scarce over the next few days or so, what with having to find a house and that sort of thing, but if I'm here or not, I can assure you that you're in good hands.
Since the last time we brought you and Open Thread. . .
-The Vikings requested permission to interview more coordinators, including both Mike Zimmer and Jay Gruden of the Cincinnati Bengals and Greg Roman of the San Francisco 49ers. Roman's team is still playing, but Zimmer and Gruden are readily available as of Sunday.
-Are the Minnesota Vikings going to make the transition to a 3-4 defense in 2014?
-The situation between the team and punter Chris Kluwe continues to escalate, as Kluwe has retained some high-powered legal counsel of his own.
From some other sources across the interwebs. . .
-The team named its MVPs on Sunday, based on the voting of the players.
-On the quarterback draft front, Central Florida signal caller Blake Bortles is declaring for the 2014 NFL Draft, while UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley is going back for his senior season.
-The Vikings have, apparently, also asked for permission to speak with Ken Whisenhunt, offensive coordinator of the San Diego Chargers.
The rules of the Open Thread are the same as ever, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, and keep the bad language to a minimum, and keep the bad language to a minimum/use the spoiler tags if you feel you absolutely must curse.
Since Ted started the cold/winter theme yesterday, let's just stick with that for now.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Tuesday, ladies and gentlemen. Keep an eye out for more stuff over the course of the rest of the day.
