Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 10/10

Hannah Foslien

We have once again made it to Friday, ladies and gentlemen. Last night's Thursday Night Football game was actually not terrible, which is a huge step up from where things have been the past few weeks.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-The big news involves Adrian Peterson telling the person that was administering his court-mandated drug test that he "smoked a little weed." Because, at this point, why not?

-Eric has his weekly picks column up for you to enjoy. (SPOILER: He's 1-0 already.)

-What one word would you use to describe the Minnesota Vikings?

-There's a league on FanDuel this week exclusively for SB Nation readers and writers with a $1,000 top prize.

-Kyle was the latest member of the DN team to make an appearance on the Purple for the Win Podcast.

-We took a look at the history between the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions.

-We exchanged some questions with our friends from Pride of Detroit, too.

-Mark has his weekly look at which college football players you should be keeping an eye on this weekend.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-Wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson is trying to remain patient as defenses shift more of their focus to him.

-It appears that the team is set to contribute more money. . .again. . .to the new stadium.

-Head coach Mike Zimmer is committed to "force feeding" his young players until they "get it."

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the bad language to a minimum (using spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep the GIFs relatively work-safe.

For today's musical entertainment. . .seems strangely appropriate.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Friday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day.
