Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings: Final Injury Reports

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

We've gotten the final injury reports for both the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions leading up to Sunday afternoon's game at TCF Bank Stadium. Let's take a look at the bumps and bruises for each side, starting with the visiting team.

Detroit Lions

Player Position Injury Sunday Status
Joseph Fauria TE Ankle Out
Travis Lewis LB Quadricep Out
Calvin Johnson WR Ankle Doubtful
Reggie Bush RB Ankle Questionable
Joique Bell RB Concussion Probable
Jerome Couplin S Ribs Probable
Theo Riddick RB Hamstring Probable
Cassius Vaughn CB Ankle Probable

Obviously, Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush are the ones that are most concerning for the Lions. Neither of them have practiced all week, and while Bush has a slightly better chance of playing, it would be a surprise to see either of them on the field this Sunday. If Bell is over his concussion issues, he would likely get the start at running back for the Lions.

And now, on to the home team.

Minnesota Vikings

Player Position Injury Sunday Status
Kyle Rudolph TE Abdomen Out
Chad Greenway LB Hand/Rib Doubtful
Harrison Smith S Ankle Questionable
Matt Asiata RB Groin Probable
Teddy Bridgewater QB Ankle Probable
Sharrif Floyd DT Elbow Probable
Michael Mauti LB Foot Probable
Jerick McKinnon RB Ankle Probable
Cordarrelle Patterson WR Hip Probable

Greenway and Smith were both limited participants in practice on Friday (everyone else on the list above participated in full, except for Rudolph), and Mike Zimmer said they would wait until Saturday to see if Greenway would play or not. He also added that if Greenway did play, it would be on a situational basis only. Gerald Hodges will still, in all likelihood, get his third consecutive start in Greenway's place.

And that's a look at the final injury reports for both the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions going into Sunday's game. Keep it tuned right here for more coverage of this weekend's contest.
