It's nice to read about members of the Minnesota Vikings doing good things, particularly in light of everything that's happened with this team in recent weeks. This story from yesterday gives us one such example.
This is the story of Brianna and Emily Robbins, a couple of girls from Minnesota who lost their mother recently. Their father took them shopping yesterday, and they just happened to run into Christian Ponder and his wife, Samantha, who were shopping at the same store. The girls and their father got their pictures taken with Ponder (who they recognized immediately), and things went on from there.
But that was just the start. While meeting the Ponders, the girls told them why they were shopping at Lululemon.
So while Justin, Brianna and Emily were busy on Facebook, the Ponders were busy too.
"When we walked into the store, the manager came out and he mentioned that they wanted to buy my daughters some clothes that day," Justin said.
After pressing the manager for several minutes, it finally came out that Sam and Christian Ponder wanted to do something nice for Brianna and Emily.
Anything the girls wanted was on their tab.
While the girls first went a little crazy, according to their father (who said they put "the whole store in a bag"), each of the girls wound up with a professionally tailored outfit from the Lulemon store.
It's easy to forget sometimes that the good things that the Minnesota Vikings have done, as a whole, far outweigh all the bad stuff that gets far more sensationalized. That's why stories like these are important. Things like this should get as much, if not significantly more, coverage than all of the garbage we see on a regular basis.
Big-time respect for Christian and Samantha Ponder for giving Brianna and Emily a boost when they really needed one.
