Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 10/24

Brett Carlsen

We've made it to Friday, ladies and gentlemen. Sounds like grounds for a celebration to me. Yours truly got his flu shot yesterday, which means by sometime on Saturday afternoon I ought to be feeling like complete dog crap, but hey. . .we'll survive and get to Sunday.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-Eric put together his picks column for this week, and he (not surprisingly) nailed the Thursday night contest.

-Mark has his weekly look at which college football players you should be keeping an eye on this weekend.

From some other sites around the internet. . .

-The defense has improved for the Minnesota Vikings over last season, even if the record doesn't necessarily reflect that so far.

-The Vikings' new stadium. . .home to the most dangerous toilet in the world. (cue dramatic music)

-Rookie guard David Yankey is "just waiting for his number to be called" so far this season.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the bad language to a minimum (using spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep the GIFs relatively work-safe.

Today's musical entertainment, from the "I can't believe this album is 27 years old" file.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Friday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day, and we'll have more for you later on!
