Report: Five London Games Possible Next Season

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

In the lead-up to this afternoon's morning's contest at Wembley Stadium between the Detroit Lions and the Atlanta Falcons, ESPN's Adam Schefter dropped this little nugget on their pre-game coverage.

The London Daily Mail has published a similar report.

Yes, after playing three games in the United Kingdom this year, the NFL is potentially looking at five there next season. No word at this point if all of the games would take place at Wembley or if they would be spread around in some form or fashion.

Honestly, I would be surprised if the Minnesota Vikings were not one of the teams that wound up "hosting" a game in London next season. With the team being in their final season at the smaller TCF Bank Stadium, I would think the Wilfs would jump at the opportunity to get the payout that a game in the United Kingdom would provide.

The games that would be played in the United Kingdom in 2014 were announced before the end of the 2013 season. Hopefully this season will see something similar. Whenever the league does make an announcement, we'll have it here for you.
