October is nearly through, ladies and gentlemen, and a brand new week of football kicks off tomorrow, which is pretty nice.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-The Minnesota Vikings, for the most part, are moving on up in this week's NFL Power Rankings across the internet.

-Ted has the Stock Market Report for the first half of the 2014 season ready for you to check out.

-The late-game heroics of linebacker Anthony Barr have gotten him nominated for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week Award. Go vote for him!

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-If you like pizza. . .is there anyone that doesn't like pizza. . .Matt Kalil's new pizza place just opened yesterday in St. Paul at 2111 Ford Parkway. (If you go, let us know how it is!)

-Reggie Fowler, who was originally slated to buy the Minnesota Vikings from Red McCombs before the Wilf family stepped in, is no longer a partner in the team.

-The Vikings are asking a lot of their rookie class. . .and, for the most part, they're responding.

-Speaking of that rookie class, they've been ranked as the 5th-best in the NFL so far this season, and 2nd-best in the NFC.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the bad language to a minimum (using spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep the GIFs relatively work-safe.

Your entertainment for today, because why not?

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Wednesday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day!
