Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 10/31

Cliff McBride

Happy Halloween, ladies and gentlemen! I'm sure that some of you have a long night ahead of you with taking your little ones out trick or treating and possibly enjoying some parties of your own. Thanks for coming to the Open Thread and hanging out with us.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-Defensive end Everson Griffen was recognized as the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for October.

-CCNorseman has started breaking down the matchups between the Minnesota Vikings and the Washington Redskins ahead of this weekend's contest.

-Eric has his picks column up for your reading pleasure.

-Mark has his weekly look at which college football players you should be keeping an eye on this weekend.

-And we've revised our Minnesota Vikings Player Power Rankings now that we've arrived at mid-season.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-The Vikings are preparing to face the Redskins' zone stretch play, a play they've had issues stopping this season.

-The Minnesota defense is looking to avoid a "nightmare" against Redskins' quarterback Robert Griffin III.

-The Vikings could be considering making some special teams changes as well.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the language relatively clean (using spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep the GIFs. . .and, really, every other picture you might feel like posting. . .relatively work-safe. I sure as hell don't want someone telling me they lost their job over something that came up on this site.

Your musical entertainment for today.

And, as an added bonus, that most appropriate MST3K episode for this particular day of the year, in my opinion.

"POLE!? You is a varrvelf?"

With that, the beer light is on, the candy dish is full, and the bar is open for this last day of October, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day, and we'll be back with more later on.
