Teddy Bridgewater Named Rookie Of The Week

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

We actually have a little bit of positive news about the Minnesota Vikings to share with you, and it centers around the guy who has brought us some of the few positive feelings about this team over the past couple of days.

Rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was named the Pepsi Rookie of the Week for Week 4 of NFL action, a week where he performed very well in his first National Football League start.

Against the Atlanta Falcons, Bridgewater completed 19-of-30 passes for 317 yards. He ran for a score, and also led four other touchdown drives on the afternoon.

To win the award, Bridgewater beat out his teammate, running back Jerick McKinnon, and three other promising rookies. The other candidates were Baltimore Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans, and Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles.

Congratulations to Teddy Bridgewater on winning the Rookie of the Week award for Week 4.

No word yet on whether or not he will be nominated for the award again in Week 5 based on the Vikings' performance on Thursday night. But he probably should be.
