Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 11/11

Brett Carlsen

Week 10 of NFL action is officially in the books, folks. Now we move on to this weekend's matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in Chicago on Sunday afternoon.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-There was a lot more Adrian Peterson news, as the NFLPA filed an expedited grievance on his behalf in an effort to get him off of the Commissioner's Exemption list. The team had also released a statement about the matter earlier in the day.

-Today marks Veterans Day across the United States and around the world.

-Sad news for Vikings fans, as safety Orlando Thomas lost his battle with ALS at the age of 42.

-We explained why the game this weekend is going to be on CBS and not on FOX like it would usually be.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-The Vikings appear to be refreshed coming off of their bye week.

-Veterans account for about 5% of the workforce that's building the Vikings' new stadium.

-Ben Goessling of ESPN sets up the second-half schedule for the Vikings.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the language relatively clean (using spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep the pictures work-safe and appropriately sized.

Today's music for Veterans Day.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Veterans Day, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day!
