Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 11/4

Adam Bettcher

Week 9 of NFL action is in the books, and for fans of the Minnesota Vikings, that means the bye week is officially underway. We understand the idea behind the bye week. . .but that doesn't mean we have to like it. And we don't.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-The Vikings changed practice squad quarterbacks, adding former Dolphins signal caller Pat Devlin and placing Chandler Harnish on injured reserve.

-The governor of Wisconsin attempted to vandalize the new Vikings' stadium, but said offensive graffiti was removed. Who knew so much effort would be required to remove crayon from steel?

-Tight end Kyle Rudolph is hoping that he can be back for the Vikings' Week 11 contest against the Chicago Bears.

From some other sources around the web. . .

-Adrian Peterson's legal matters could be resolved today. His hearing is set for 1:30 PM Central time.

-Apparently security at TCF Bank Stadium removed Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mo Williams from the field before last weekend's game. No word on whether or not he was auditioning for a role as an offensive tackle.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've always been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the language relatively clean (using spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep all the pictures (animated and otherwise) work-safe.

Here is today's musical entertainment.

It says "Queen Mix," but there are some songs from other folks in there as well. Potential naughty language warning applies.

Also, today is Election Day in the United States, and while we aren't going to be espousing one political philosophy or another here, we do hope that you exercise your right to your vote in the elections in your area/state/wherever else.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Tuesday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day!
