Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 12/2

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

It's officially time to start looking forward to Week 14 of the 2014 NFL season, as last night's game between the Dolphins and Jets put Week 13 to rest. The Vikings will host those same J-E-T-S on Sunday afternoon at TCF Bank Stadium.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-Oh, so Johnny Manziel is going to start for the Cleveland Browns this weekend? That's cute. Really.

-Now gather 'round, I'm the new fool in town, and my sound's laid down by the (Bridgewater) Underground.

-Defensive end Brian Robison used to have a ponytail. He doesn't any more, and it's for a good reason.

-Teddy Bridgewater has been nominated for the Rookie of the Week Award on NFL.com. You should go vote for him.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-Sunday's game was the coldest Vikings game since 1981. You know, that whole indoors thing and what not.

-The knee injuries for both linebacker Anthony Barr and defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd don't appear to be all that serious.

-Coach Mike Zimmer stated yesterday that there isn't an issue with wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson. . .which, if I've learned anything over the years, means that there's an issue with wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the bad language to a minimum (using spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep the pictures work-safe and appropriately sized.

For today's musical entertainment, let's do a little metal.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Tuesday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day!
