Minnesota Vikings Sign Henry Josey

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

After the release of running back Ben Tate yesterday, the Minnesota Vikings were in need of a running back, and the reports are coming in that they have signed one.

According to Michael DiRocco, who covers the Jacksonville Jaguars for ESPN.com, the Vikings have signed running back Henry Josey from the Jacksonville practice squad.

Josey is a smaller running back, measuring in at 5'8" and around 195 pounds. He was undrafted out of the University of Missouri in the most recent NFL Draft, and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was released by the Eagles as part of their final cuts, and was signed to the Jaguars practice squad following that.

In his final year at Missouri, he carried the ball 174 times for 1,166 yards and 16 touchdowns. He skipped his senior year of eligibility to enter the NFL Draft.

No word on what other roster moves the Vikings might make today. There is still the possibility that they place linebacker Anthony Barr on injured reserve. If they make any other moves, we will have them here for you.
