Minnesota Vikings Place Anthony Barr on Injured Reserve; Activate Josh Kaddu

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

In a move we mentioned was coming yesterday, the Minnesota Vikings have placed rookie linebacker Anthony Barr on injured reserve and activated linebacker Josh Kaddu from the practice squad.

Barr has not played since the Vikings' victory over the Carolina Panthers on 30 November. He had suffered a knee injury prior to that, but managed to make it through a couple of games before the team shut him down.

With the Vikings only having three healthy linebackers in practice on Friday. . .those three being Jasper Brinkley, Audie Cole, and Gerald Hodges. . .the team made the decision to activate Kaddu in time for this weekend's contest. Kaddu was originally drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the fifth round of the 2012 draft, and was released by the Dolphins in October of 2013. He has also spent some time with the Philadelphia Eagles prior to his arrival in Minnesota.

There's a good chance that Kaddu will actually see the field for the Vikings tomorrow. . .as we mentioned, the team only has three healthy linebackers, and one of the ones that isn't healthy (Chad Greenway) did not participate in practice all week, leaving his status for Sunday in doubt.

Once again, the Minnesota Vikings have placed Anthony Barr on injured reserve and brought Josh Kaddu on to the active roster.
