Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 12/5

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

We've made it to Friday again, ladies and gentlemen. It's been a pretty long week over on this end, so I'm happier to see Friday than usual. But there's another Minnesota Vikings game this weekend, which is always something to look forward to.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-We took a look back at the history between the Vikings and their opponent this weekend, the New York Jets. It has been pretty ugly for Minnesota.

-Charles Johnson has officially overtaken Cordarrelle Patterson for the starting split end job.

-The Vikings will be honoring a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor during Sunday's game.

-Blair Walsh is kind of pretty. I mean, I guess, I don't know.

-And Eric has posted his picks for this week's NFL action, and he's already off to a 1-0 start.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-The appeal hearing for Adrian Peterson concluded yesterday. Wasn't nearly as much coverage of the second day as there was of the first. Now we wait.

-Xavier Rhodes has gotten much better in coverage during his time in Minnesota.

-Arif's latest dissertation on Teddy Bridgewater over at Vikings Territory is a must-read. Make sure you have a beverage handy.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the bad language to a minimum (using spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep the pictures work-safe and appropriately sized.

For today's entertainment, the first episode of a show that deserved far better than it wound up getting. Some folks may find some parts of it offensive. You've been warned.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Friday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day!
