Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 2/12

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Hey, everyone! My apologies for not having been around a whole lot lately. . .between relocation, recertification, and arguing with internet providers to give us service (among other things), there hasn't been a whole lot of opportunity for me to get online and post or anything like that. Hopefully that will change here in the very near future. Actually hoping to get a pre-Combine version of our 2014 Mock Draft Database online sometime this weekend, but we'll see how that works out.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-Ted took a look at the Michael Sam story and the Chris Kluwe investigation.

-According to CCNorseman, a good number of folks think that receiver Cordarrelle Patterson is poised for a breakout in 2014. I agree, but I'm kind of biased.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-The Vikings have imported linebacker Simoni Lawrence from the Canadian Football League. Lawrence played his college ball for the University of Minnesota.

-According to this year's ridiculously-too-early strength of schedule rankings, the Vikings have a pretty easy schedule next season. I'm guessing a lot of that has to do with no NFC North team finishing with more than 8 wins in 2013.

-The Vikings cheerleaders talk about their workout regimen, and you're no longer reading this sentence anyway so purple monkey dishwasher fantastic.

That's what we've got for you for now, folks. No musical selection for this morning, unfortunately. . .hopefully you all can entertain yourselves somehow. Anyway, the rules are the same as always. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, and keep the bad language to a minimum/keep the gifs relatively tasteful.

The beer light is on and the bar is open for Wednesday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day!
