Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 2/18

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Hey, everyone! I hope you enjoyed your three-day weekend if you had one. Three-day weekends are awesome.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-In some non-Vikings news, today is the start of the Women's 2-man bobsled event at the Sochi Olympics. Things get started at about 9:15 AM Central, and Aja Evans (Fred Evans' sister) will be in action early in the proceedings.

-We have the figures for this year's Franchise Tags in the National Football League. That stuff is expensive. No way the Minnesota Vikings use the franchise tag on anyone.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-One of the beams at the Metrodome fell out of sequence yesterday, so the demolition of the building has been halted.

-ESPN.com's blog for the St. Louis Rams vets the Minnesota Vikings as a possible trade partner.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as always, folks. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, and keep the bad language to a minimum and the GIFs relatively tasteful.

Here's today's selection, in honor of one of the individuals in the clip turning 60 years old today. (Hint: It's not Uma Thurman.)

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Tuesday, folks. Have a good rest of your day, and go Aja!
