I'm a little late to the party on this. I think I saw this at The Viking Age first, so I'll give them credit for it.
I've never played Minecraft, but apparently a lot of people have and enjoy it. After seeing this, I might have to give it a go. It appears that one enterprising user went ahead and built a replica of the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome inside the world of Minecraft.
It's also apparently to scale, so that users can wander around the building and relive all their favorite memories in what appears to be old-school 8-bit glory.
Here's an album of the pictures of this replica.
I'll tell you. . .for a game that appears to be based on an episode of Code Monkeys come to life, this is actually pretty damn impressive.
Any Minecraft fans out there that can speak on how hard it would be to do something like this? I can only imagine that it would take a sizeable amount of time.
And yes, I get this isn't really a Vikings story. . .and again, I say, "welcome to the off-season."
