Erin Henderson, who is in the habit of piling up DUI's at a faster rate than a teenage girl piles up duckfaced selfies, was released by the Vikings earlier today.
Henderson had played under two consecutive one year 'prove it' deals for the Vikings, and he never could. He began his career on the outside, and after the Vikings could not find an adequate replacement for his older brother E.J., Henderson the younger was moved to the Mike position.
Last year, in an effort to bolster that position, the Vikings signed Desmond Bishop, who supplanted a subpar Henderson in week four. But Bishop suffered a season ending injury, and Henderson once again took over. Although his play didn't improve, he remained the starter for several more games, until being finally supplanted bu OMG AUDIE COLE WOOOOO AUDIE COLE OMG for the last few games of the season.
So as of right now, the only two 'Mike' linebackers on the Vikings roster are Cole and Michael Mauti.
Which are probably both better options than Henderson.
