Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 3/10

USA TODAY Sports

Happy Free Agency Eve, everyone! The signing of outside free agents can officially start in a little more than 24 hours, but that hasn't stopped the Minnesota Vikings from making a whole lot of news anyway.

If you haven't checked out our 2014 Free Agency Stream, we've got all the stories lined up there for you. The Vikings have re-signed defensive lineman Everson Griffen, brought back middle linebacker Jasper Brinkley, and have had rumored interest in all sorts of different players.

Unfortunately, with all the excitement of new additions (and potential ones), we have to say good-bye to one of our favorite Vikings, and Kyle does just that in this post dedicated to Jared Allen. Best of luck to him. . .you know, when he plays any of the other 31 teams in the National Football League.

From some other places across the interwebs. . .

-ESPN's Ben Goessling takes a look at what might be next for the Vikings in the wake of the Griffen signing.

-Judd Zulgad tells us that, for Griffen, with great contract comes great responsibility.

-I can't quite get a read on it for sure, but I don't think this guy cares much for the Griffen signing.

-Our condolences to our friends over at Pride of Detroit. The team's owner, William Clay Ford, passed away yesterday at the age of 88.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, and keep the language clean and the GIFs work-friendly.

Once again, we're on the eve of free agency, a time where we're going to hear a lot of rumors, half-truths. . .

And innuendo.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Monday, everyone. Enjoy the rest of your day, and if any more news comes down the pike, we'll have it here for you.
