Apparently the signing of linebacker Jasper Brinkley has not stopped the Minnesota Vikings from continuing to look for options at the position. After the disaster that the unit was last year, this is probably wise.
The team will visit with former Baltimore Ravens' linebacker Jameel McClain on Monday according to 1500 ESPN in the Twin Cities. McClain made the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Syracuse in 2008, and has played his entire six-year career with Baltimore.
McClain suffered a spinal cord contusion in 2012, and returned to the field with the Ravens this past October. He played both of the inside linebacker positions in Baltimore's 3-4 defense, appearing in ten games. In his career, he has appeared in 87 games, starting 55.
McClain has also worked out for the New York Giants and the Buffalo Bills since his release from the Ravens. As he was released, he is/was free to sign with any team without having to wait for the start of the new league year on Tuesday.
