Report: Darren Sproles Possible Target For Minnesota Vikings

Harry How

The Minnesota Vikings are going to be looking for a change of pace-type of running back to back-up Adrian Peterson, now that it appears that Toby Gerhart is going to be leaving for a new destination. According to recent rumors, they could be interested in about as big a change of pace as you can get.

Yes, it appears that the Vikings may have an interest in running back Darren Sproles. Sproles is known for his ability in the open field, particularly as a pass-catcher.

I know what some of you are going to say, and it's going to be something fairly uncomplimentary about the Bounty Hunters that Sproles has been employed by for the past three seasons. However, it should be noted that Sproles didn't join the Saints until 2011, well after all that stuff occurred. It should also be pointed out that he spent the first six seasons of his career with the San Diego Chargers, the last four of which were spent with. . .Norv Turner.

Dun dun DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!

Don't get me wrong. . .the Vikings would have some serious competition for Sproles' services, if they are interested. But it would give the Vikings' offense a dimension that they've really lacked for quite a while.
