Minnesota Vikings Mock Draft Database v4.0

It's time for the latest version of your Minnesota Vikings Mock Draft Database! This update might be a little more murky than what we'll see in the future. . .we're at that stage where some sites have updated their mocks based on what's happened in the early stages of free agency, and some haven't quite gotten around to it yet. Hopefully next week things will clear up a bit.

Not a huge update this week, as we've only jumped to 58 mocks on our list. We have one new name and a couple of names that have disappeared. So, without any further ado, here is your list of mocks for this week.

As you can see, despite the re-signing of Matt Cassell, quarterback is still the dominant position in this week's database, comprising 39 of our 58 selections (67.2%). Derek Carr is still your most selected player, as his name appears 16 times in this week's list (27.6%). Johnny Mondo Delicious Ice Cream Football Manziel has jumped into second place among quarterbacks (and overall) with 10 selections (17.2%), while Teddy "Theodore" Bridgewater drops to third with seven picks (12.1%). Blake Bortles appears six times (10.3%) to round out the signal callers.

The linebacker position appears 13 times (22.4%), and that position is still being dominated by UCLA's Anthony Barr. Barr appears eight times in our database this week (13.8%), while we get three selections for Buffalo's Khalil Mack (5.2%) and two selections for Alabama's C.J. Mosley (3.4%).

The new guy this week is Michigan State cornerback Darqueze Dennard, who was drafted for the Vikings by the folks from DraftTek. His one selection gives him 1.7% of the pie this week (or donut, if you will), and with Oklahoma State's Justin Gilbert holding steady with two selections (3.4%), that gives the cornerbacks three selections, good enough for third place by position this week.

We still have two wide receiver selections this week, as Texas A&M's Mike Evans and Clemson's Sammy Watkins each get 1.7% of this week's selections. Notre Dame defensive tackle Louis Nix rounds things out with his single selection, helping him to hold steady from last week.

Leaving our database this week are USC wide receiver Marqise Lee and Missouri defensive end Kony Ealy.
