The Minnesota Vikings have made another significant gain in free agency, as defensive tackle Letroy Guion signed a one-year deal with the Green Bay Packers on Monday.
Guion was the Vikings' fifth-round pick (#152 overall) out of Florida State in the 2008 NFL Draft. After playing in just two games as a rookie and seven games in his second year, Guion appeared in 59 of 64 possible games, including starting 28 games over the last two years. He had five quarterback sacks in his Vikings career.
Frankly, I'm not totally sure how to react to this signing. Sure, it's tough to see a guy go to a division rival and everything, but really. . .as many Minnesota opponents have found over the past few years, it's beneficial to the Vikings for Guion to be on the field as much as possible. You know, for the other team.
And who knows. . .maybe Guion will finally figure out where Scott Tolzien went to.
