Minnesota Vikings Mock Draft Database v6.0

We're a little less than six weeks away from the 2014 NFL Draft, everybody. Who still hates the fact that the NFL moved the draft to May? This guy, that's who.

Anyway, we have a slightly larger update than the one we brought you last week, one that includes a couple of new faces. So, to get us started, here is your database for this week, now featuring 68 mock drafts. And, as someone suggested last week, it's now sorted by when the mock was updated.

Man, that "Staff" guy gets around, doesn't he?

The dominance of the quarterback position continues, but now the balance has shifted even more.

As you can see in the database above, signal callers are tabbed for the Vikings in a whopping 50 of the 68 mock drafts we're using this week. That's a 73.5% clip, and the distribution of those votes has changed dramatically over the past couple of weeks. Johnny Mondo Delicious Ice Cream Purple Football Manziel has 21 of those 50 selections, up from his total of 18 last week. Derek "Baby, You Can Drive My" Carr is holding on to second with 13 picks (down from 16 last week), but hot on his heels is Teddy "Theodore" Bridgewater, who jumped from six picks last week to 11 in this session. Blake Bortles (no James) has just five selections this week, down from six previously.

Linebackers still hold the second-highest number of selections, but that's dropping a bit, as they now only make up seven of the 68 picks this week, giving them 10.3% of the pie (or donut, in our case). Anthony Barr saw his vote total drop from six to four this week, while Khalil Mack and C.J. Mosely held steady at two and one selections, respectively.

Cornerbacks have moved into third place this week, garnering five of our 68 selections for a 7.4% selection rate. Justin Gilbert leads the way with three picks, while Darqueze Dennard drops from two picks to one, and Jason Verrett holds steady with one selection.

Wide receivers actually appear next on our list with three picks, all of them belonging to Mike Evans. That gives the receiver position 4.4% of our picks this week.

The safety position has jumped onto the board this week, with two sources tabbing newcomer Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix to Minnesota in their mock drafts. That gives the safety position 2.9% of our selections. In a related note, I'm going to try to get used to calling him "Ha'Sean," if only because Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix sounds like the punchline from every joke told on The Tonight Show from 1994 to 2000.

Defensive tackles bring up the rear in this one with just one selection, and we have a swap of faces at the position. Louis Nix is out, and Pittsburgh's Aaron Donald is in. Donald's selection gives the defensive tackle position 1.5% of our selections this week.
