Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 3/5

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Hey, everyone! You know what day it is, and if you don't, I'm guessing someone will remind you before too long.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-The latest SB Nation Mock Draft is out. Go see who they have the Vikings taking?

-The team is reportedly set to part ways with tight end John Carlson.

-The National Football League might be moving the extra point back a significant distance.

-The countdown is on for cornerback Chris Cook (apparently) as free agency approaches.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-Defensive end Jared Allen is preparing for his first shot at free agency.

-Blair Walsh has no problem with the league potentially moving the PAT.

-Linebacker/defensive end Khalil Mack may have run himself out of any chance of falling to the Minnesota Vikings at #8 in the 2014 NFL Draft.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no religion, no politics, no feeding of the trolls, and keep the language and the GIFs clean. Well, semi-clean on the GIFs, at the very least.

No video today, unfortunately, because YouTube hates me for some reason. I might add one in later if it stops doing that.

Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday, everybody!
