Jasper Brinkley Signing With Minnesota Vikings

And the hits, they just keep on coming.

Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports 1 is reporting that former Minnesota Vikings linebacker Jasper Brinkley is heading back to Minnesota to re-join the Vikings.

Brinkley was a fifth-round draft pick of the Vikings (#150 overall) in the 2009 NFL Draft out of South Carolina. He stepped in for E.J. Henderson after Henderson suffered his broken leg late in the Vikings' 2009 season. After playing out his rookie contract with the Vikings, he played last season for the Arizona Cardinals, mostly in a reserve role.

Per Garafolo, the contract is for one year, and will provide the Vikings with some pretty decent depth in a linebacker corps that has some talen, but also has plenty of question marks. We don't know for sure yet if Brinkley is going to be in the mix to start right away, but one would have to think that he's going to have an opportunity to prove himself again for Mike Zimmer and company.
