Mauti Gras In The Announcing Booth

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

It's Spring Football season on campuses across the country, and it's no different in Big Ten country. (Or B1G, if you're so inclined.)

Penn State University will be having their spring game this Saturday, and along with getting an opportunity to get a look at quarterback prospect Christian Hackenberg (who we'll have people screaming for this team to tank for at some point in 2014, because why not), fans of the Minnesota Vikings will see a familiar face in the announcers booth.

Former Penn State linebacker Michael Mauti will be providing color commentary for the Penn State spring game on the Big Ten Network. The game will be available on the network's web site, BTN2Go, at 12:30 PM Central time, and will be on the big network at 5 PM Central time.

I'll admit that I don't know much about Mauti outside of his play on the field, but it's pretty cool that he gets the opportunity to do this. It will be interesting to see what kind of insight he can provide, and I'm sure he'll have some comments about the Vikings as well.

If anyone gets an opportunity to watch the broadcast, let us know what you think!
