Minnesota Vikings' wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson was at the game between the Kansas City Royals and the Minnesota Twins at Target Field on Saturday. Not only did he throw out the first pitch for the game (which the Twins wound up winning 7-1). . .

. . .but he also defeated mascot T.C. Bear in a pre-game home run derby.

As The Viking Age points out, the big story about this might be those pants. On the bright side, it appears that the man they call "Flash" has seen the classic movie Caddyshack, because I'm pretty sure those pants came directly out of Al Czervik's closet.
But there's no truth to the rumor that Twins fans have already declared him a better option in the lineup than Joe Mauer. Yet.
In all seriousness, it's nice to see a young, rising star like Patterson begin to embrace the Twin Cities area the way he has. Hopefully he's going to be here doing these sorts of things for a long time.
