Well, the votes are in for the first five spots on our 2014 Daily Norseman Big Board, and it isn't terribly surprising our readers put on top of the heap to kick things off.
University of Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack is atop our board for this draft season. With 1,604 folks casting their votes, the breakdown of the points looks like this:
Player Name | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | Total |
Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo | 332 | 514 | 304 | 193 | 115 | 5129 |
Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina | 576 | 291 | 155 | 94 | 104 | 4801 |
Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville | 329 | 217 | 205 | 159 | 136 | 3582 |
Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson | 45 | 123 | 284 | 300 | 218 | 2387 |
Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M | 154 | 126 | 157 | 157 | 163 | 2222 |
As you can see, South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney wound up with an overwhelming number of first-place votes, but Mack wound up with more second and third-place votes than anyone else in the poll. Also not surprising to see two quarterbacks in the top five, either, as they're the two guys that most fans of the Minnesota Vikings have been clamoring for all off-season.
With the overwhelming response to the first poll, even though it went up on a Sunday morning, I am going to effort to do this every day at about the same time. As we're still a little more than three weeks away from the draft, that should give us enough names to get through the first three rounds of the 2014 NFL Draft.
The post for spots 6-10 on our Big Board will be coming here shortly, so keep your eye out for it!
