Remember when the list of guys that got invited to the NFL Draft was a fairly short one? Like maybe seven or eight guys, all of whom were expected to go fairly early in the process?
Well, that certainly isn't the case any longer. The NFL has announced that a record thirty college players have been invited to Radio City Music Hall for the 2014 NFL Draft. With only 32 first round picks, there are going to be quite a few guys that will have to break out a second suit for their time in the Big Apple.
Here is the entire list of players that have been invited to this year's selection meeting:
-Odell Beckham, Jr., wide receiver, Louisiana State
-Blake Bortles, quarterback, Central Florida
-Teddy Bridgewater, quarterback, Louisville
-Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix, safety, Alabama
-Jadeveon Clowney, defensive end, South Carolina
-Brandin Cooks, wide receiver, Oregon State
-Kony Ealy, defensive end, Missouri
-Eric Ebron, tight end, North Carolina
-Mike Evans, wide receiver, Texas A&M
-Kyle Fuller, cornerback, Virginia Tech
-Jimmy Garoppolo, quarterback, Eastern Illinois
-Justin Gilbert, cornerback, Oklahoma State
-Ra'Shede Hageman, defensive tackle, Minnesota
-Tim Jernigan, defensive tackle, Florida State
-Cyrus Kouandijo, offensive tackle, Alabama
-Cody Latimer, wide receiver, Indiana
-Marqise Lee, wide receiver, Southern California
-Taylor Lewan, offensive tackle, Michigan
-Khalil Mack, linebacker, Buffalo
-Johnny Manziel, quarterback, Texas A&M
-Jake Matthews, offensive tackle, Texas A&M
-Jordan Matthews, wide receiver, Vanderbilt
-Morgan Moses, offensive tackle, Virginia Tech
-C.J. Mosley, linebacker, Alabama
-Calvin Pryor, safety, Louisville
-Greg Robinson, offensive tackle, Auburn
-Bradley Roby, cornerback, The. . .dramatic pause. . .Ohio State University
-Ryan Shazier, linebacker, The. . .dramatic pause. . .Ohio State University
-Jason Verrett, cornerback, Texas Christian
-Sammy Watkins, wide receiver, Clemson
I'd have to think that the odds are pretty good that the Minnesota Vikings will get at least one of the guys that will be in attendance in New York on May 8. They might even get two.
How many players from that list do you think the Vikings will end up with? Who will be the last guy in the "green room?" My money is on Cody Latimer for the second one.
