Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 4/30

Stephen Dunn

It's that day again, and we're only eight days away from the 2014 NFL Draft. Thank goodness.

My apologies for the fact that we've gotten a bit off the rails with our Big Boards and some other things. Been pretty hectic on this end from a personal standpoint for the past couple of days, but hopefully most of that is out of the way now.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-Ted took a look at how Blair Walsh fares when kicking outside. SPOILER: He's still pretty good.

-Mark had a mock draft that has the Vikings taking. . .well, you have to check it out for yourself.

-Speaking of mock drafts, the two main draft guys from ESPN are in agreement about who the Minnesota Vikings should draft.

From some other sources around the internet. . .

-The Vikings and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are apparently among the favorites to draft Johnny Manziel.

-Ben Goessling of ESPN has done a couple of Vikings salary cap breakdowns. You can check out the defense here, and the offense here.

-Defensive tackle Kevin Williams has had another tryout, this one with the Seattle Seahawks. (Really, who else would it have been?)

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the language relatively clean (with spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep the GIFs relatively work-safe.

Your musical selection for today:

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Wednesday, ladies and gentlemen! Enjoy the rest of your day, and we'll have more for you later.
