Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 5/14

Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

Hey there, ladies and gentlemen. If you need to know what day it is, I'm sure that a camel will be along shortly to remind you.

Since the last time we had an Open Thread. . .

-Dan Patrick did an interview with new Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, during which Bridgewater expressed that he was quite happy that he didn't wind up with the Cleveland Browns.

-The Vikings had to cut four players to make room for their crop of undrafted free agents.

From some other places around the internet. . .

-Albert Breer of NFL.com has a really nice story about how the Vikings went through the quarterback scouting process.

-ESPN's Ben Goessling takes a look at how the Vikings will use new linebacker Anthony Barr.

-The Vikings have invited defensive tackle John Oyloe from the University of Mary. . .yes, the one in Bismarck, North Dakota. . .to their rookie camp.

-Speaking of rookie free agent, newly-signed Kain Colter had a great uncle, Jeff, who played for the Vikings in 1984. That's "great uncle," not "great" uncle, though I'm sure they're both really swell guys.

-Our friends from Gobbler Country, SB Nation's Virginia Tech site, have a look at a couple of Hokies that have found their way to Minnesota. You can read about linebacker Jack Tyler at this link, and defensive back Antone Exum at this one.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the language relatively clean (with spoiler tags, if necessary), and keep the GIFs relatively work-safe.

For today's song, one I heard on the radio today that's in my head. . .which is okay, because it's awesome. Also, Muppets.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Wednesday. Take a load off, and enjoy the rest of your day.
