It's Friday, ladies and gentlemen. In one week, we'll be talking about who the Minnesota Vikings took (or didn't take) in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft and getting ourselves ready for Rounds 2 and 3 of the selection process. Still seems like a long damn ways away, but we are finally going to get there.
Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .
-Our Community Quarterback Rankings are still going strong. Over 1,400 folks have filled in the survey, and I'm going to leave it up for a little while longer. If you haven't voted already, please do so!
-Ted has a look at his attempt to decide between two quarterbacks going into the draft. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
-Ted also details his best and worst-case scenarios for the Vikings on draft day.
-The league has invited former Vikings' safety Joey Browner to announce the team's second-round pick next week. Yes, again.
-The Vikings have done their share of moving around the first round of the draft in recent history. For the most part, it has worked out pretty well for them.
From some other sources around the internet. . .
-The team is expecting big things from safety Harrison Smith in his third NFL season.
-Running back Adrian Peterson was practicing with the team at this week's mini-camp.
-Speaking of the NFL's best running back, apparently the plan is to get him more involved in the passing game next season. What a novel concept.
-Defensive tackle Kevin Williams is considering retirement if he doesn't get a contract offer to his liking. We heard that about Jared Allen, too, right?
The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, keep the language relatively clean (with spoiler tags if necessary), and keep the GIFs relatively work-safe.
Your musical selection for this Friday.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Friday, ladies and gentlemen! Enjoy the rest of your day, and we'll be back later.
