After what seems like about eight months of waiting and speculation, the 2014 NFL Draft is finally going to take place this evening at Radio City Music Hall. Well, the first round of the draft, anyway. . .rounds 2 and 3 will take place on Friday, while the rest of the draft will happen on Saturday.
As you've become accustomed to over the past couple of years, The Daily Norseman will be providing you the best coverage of the NFL draft from a purple and gold perspective that you're going to find anywhere on the internet. So, how's it all going to go down? Well, here's what we've got.
Our normal Open Thread is going to pop up at the usual time in the morning. We'll probably have a couple of other stories throughout the day as well. At about 5:30 PM Central time, we're going to open up the first (of what I assume will be many) Open Threads for the first round of the draft. Whenever the Vikings make a pick, it will have its own post in our 2014 Vikings draft stream. We will continue monitoring the Open Threads and opening up new ones to make sure things don't get bogged down.
We will also have two people at Winter Park, as both Eric Thompson and Arif Hasan will be hanging out at Vikings HQ to get some of the media reaction, as well as their own, on the picks. They should also have plenty of other good stuff for you. We will be embedding both of their Twitter feeds (@eric_j_thompson and @arifhasannfl, respectively) in the Open Threads for you, so be sure to keep an eye on that as well.
We'll also be providing live tweets throughout the night. You can catch them on the Daily Norseman's main Twitter account (@DailyNorseman), as well as those of Ted (@purplebuckeye), Kyle (@KJSegall), CCNorseman (@CCNorseman), Mark (@MarkSP18), and Skol Girl (@skolgirldn). Skol Girl might not be tweeting as frequently, as she will be holding things down at our FaceBook page, which is the best around.
We've finally made it, ladies and gentlemen. By the end of the night, we'll be done speculating about who the newest Minnesota Vikings will be and speculating about how they're going to help the team in 2014 and beyond. We hope that you'll be here to join us for all of the action and excitement!
